Where We Build — Sydney Service Areas

Strava Group works across Sydney’s north west, the Hornsby shire, the Ryde and Hunters Hill district, the inner west and St George. We build home extensions, home renovations and custom homes across 46 suburbs, and second storey additions across 26. We are a licensed residential builder (NSW Builder’s Licence 487370C) specialising in home renovations, home extensions, second storey additions and custom homes.
We keep the service area deliberately tight. A builder who covers all of Sydney is either subcontracting the supervision or spending half the day in traffic, and both show up in the finished work. Staying within about forty minutes of our other sites means we are on your job when we say we will be.

Why the Suburb Matters

The same renovation costs different amounts and takes different lengths of time depending on where the house is. Three things drive that.
The council. You are dealing with one of roughly a dozen local councils across our service area, and they are not equally quick. The approval pathway matters more than most people expect — a Complying Development Certificate can be issued in weeks, while a full Development Application can take months. Which one applies depends on your council’s controls and your block.
Heritage and conservation controls. Hunters Hill, Leichhardt, Marrickville, Dulwich Hill and parts of North Parramatta contain conservation areas where the CDC pathway is off the table entirely. That is not a reason to avoid renovating — some of the best work we do is in those streets — but it changes the timeline and the design, and you want to know before you fall in love with a plan.
The housing stock. Federation and interwar homes in the inner west come with different problems to the brick veneer of the Hills District — lath and plaster, stumps rather than slabs, and services that were never designed for a modern kitchen. Post-war homes across Ryde and Eastwood usually have more forgiving structure but tired plumbing. We price and plan for what is actually there.
Select your suburb below for local detail. If you are unsure which service you need, start with the main pages: home renovations, home extensions or second storey additions.

Home Renovations

Complete internal renovations, open plan reconfigurations, kitchens and bathrooms across 46 Sydney suburbs. Most full internal renovations we run land between $180,000 and $450,000. See the home renovations page for pricing and process.

Home Extensions

Extending out rather than up — rear additions, side extensions and opening the back of the house to the yard. Generally $70,000 to $300,000 depending on size and how much of the existing structure has to change. See the home extensions page.

Custom Homes

Knockdown rebuilds and luxury new homes across the same 46 suburbs, quoted per project with an itemised proposal. Some of these suburbs sit inside heritage conservation areas where demolition is restricted — those pages tell you straight what your street allows before you spend on design. See the custom homes page for how we build.

Not on the List?

We take work outside these suburbs where the project justifies the travel, and we will tell you honestly if it doesn’t. A large second storey addition an hour away can work. A single bathroom the same distance cannot, and you would be better served by someone local.
If your suburb isn’t listed, get in touch and we’ll give you a straight answer either way.
